Customized toric intraocular lens implantation in cornea plana

A 50-year-old woman with cornea plana had reduced visual acuity due to development of lenticular changes. Flat keratometry with high astigmatism, shallow anterior chamber depth, and short axial length made it challenging both for intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation and cataract surgery.

Laser-assisted marking for toric intraocular lens alignment

We describe a technique of 3-dimensional spectral-domain optical coherence tomography-controlled laser-assisted corneal marking for toric intraocular lens implantation. To facilitate accurate alignment, the technique creates 2 perpendicular intrastromal incisions (width 0.75 mm) using an image-guided femtosecond laser.
