Rescue technique for salvaging toric intraocular lens alignment

open access: yesJournal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2012
Accurate alignment of a toric intraocular lens (IOL) is a requisite to achieving the intended reduction in astigmatism at the time of cataract surgery. However, it requires a reasonably clear view of the limbal vascular anatomy, which is sometimes altered by chemosis from a subconjunctival anesthetic injection or a hemorrhage.

Rotational stability of plate-haptic toric intraocular lenses in Asian eyes: risk period for intraocular lens rotation and its influencing factors

Journal of cataract and refractive surgery, 2023
Maximum rotation occurred within 1 hour to 1 day postoperatively. Patients are highly advised to rest for 3 days and avoid strenuous activity for 1 month after toric IOL implantation. Purpose: To investigate the rotational stability of plate-haptic toric

Toric intraocular lens in asymmetric astigmatism

International Ophthalmology, 2020
The aim of this study is to report our results of toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in patients with asymmetric astigmatism, its efficacy and safety in reducing the refractive cylinder. This is a retrospective cohort study. Patients with asymmetric astigmatism and non-progressive corneal ectasia, unable to fit hard contact lenses, with poor ...

Rotational stability of a new toric intraocular lens with an advanced optical profile

Journal of cataract and refractive surgery, 2023
The main finding of this study was the rotational stability of a new toric IOL, the TECNIS Eyhance Toric II, over a course of 3 months. Purpose: To examine the rotational stability of a new toric intraocular lens (IOL), the TECNIS Eyhance Toric II, over ...
