Magnetic Textiles: A Review of Materials, Fabrication, Properties, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Magnetic textiles (M‐textiles) are emerging as a programmable materials platform that merges magnetic matter with hierarchical textile structures. This article consolidates magnetic material classes, textile architectures, and fabrication and magnetization strategies, revealing structure–property–function relationships that govern magneto‐mechanical ...

Geodesic acoustic mode in toroidally rotating anisotropic tokamaks [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Plasmas, 2015
Effects of anisotropy on the geodesic acoustic mode (GAM) are analyzed by using gyro-kinetic equations applicable to low-frequency microinstabilities in a toroidally rotating tokamak plasma. Dispersion relation in the presence of arbitrary Mach number M, anisotropy strength σ, and the temperature ration τ is analytically derived.

The effect of impurity seeding on edge toroidal rotation in the ADITYA-U tokamak

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Intrinsic toroidal rotation velocity ( V _φ ) has been measured from the Doppler shift of C ^5+ carbon spectral lines (at 529.05 nm) in the edge region of the ADITYA-U tokamak without any auxiliary torque input in an ohmically heated pure hydrogen (H _2 )

On the role of tachoclines in solar and stellar dynamos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Rotational shear layers at the boundary between radiative and convective zones, tachoclines, play a key role in the process of magnetic field generation in solar-like stars.

NuSAP Safeguards Centriole Integrity to Mediate CEP57‐CEP152 Torus Recruitment for Proper Engagement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a novel role for the microtubule stabilizer NuSAP at centrioles. NuSAP depletion destabilizes the centriole's tubulin structure, causing premature disengagement, PCM defects, and mis‐localization of the CEP57‐CEP63‐CEP152 complex. By reinforcing centriole architecture, NuSAP enables early CEP57 loading and initiates a newly proposed ...

Design of a new parametric method for low-noise toroidal propeller and its hydrodynamic noise study

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu
ObjectiveThe vortex generated by the toroidal propeller's rotation is distributed across the entire blade, effectively preventing tip vortex leakage and allowing the vortex to dissipate rapidly in water, thereby reducing the propagation of hydrodynamic ...

Comparison of core Ar17+ and Mo32+ toroidal rotation in C-Mod plasmas

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2023
Core ( r / a   $\lt$  0.5) toroidal rotation from argon (Ar ^17+ , 40 AMU) and molybdenum (Mo ^32+ , 96 AMU) ions has been compared in C-Mod tokamak plasmas over a wide range of operating conditions and confinement schemes, including Ohmic L-mode in the ...

Neural Network‐Based Permittivity Engineering of Magnetic Absorbers for Customizable Microwave Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A neural network‐enabled permittivity engineering paradigm is introduced, transcending traditional trial‐and‐error design. By decoupling electromagnetic parameters and screening a high‐throughput feature space, an ultrathin (1.0 mm) magnetic absorber is inversely designed, experimentally achieving a superior and customizable 5.1 GHz bandwidth and ...
