Torque-Sensorless Identification of IPMSM Torque Map

2021 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2021
This paper analyzes the torque equation of an interior permanent-magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM), including magnetic saturation, spatial harmonics, and the variation of the magnetic energy. Based on the analysis, a torque-sensorless method is proposed to identify an IPMSM’s torque map.

A Novel Spoke-Type PM Motor With Auxiliary Salient Poles for Low Torque Pulsation

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2020
This paper proposes a novel spoke-type permanent-magnet (PM) motor with auxiliary salient poles (ASPs). With these ASPs, unequal ASPs and shifted ASPs in the circumferential direction can be realized and combined to reduce the torque pulsation, while ...

Automatic Torque Controller for Torque Motors

Journal of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, 1952
The use of the automatic torque controller permits the full advantages of torque motors to be realized for film take-up and holdback duty without being handicapped by their inherent limitations when operated in the conventional manner.

Torque Fluctuation in Hydraulic Torque Converter

2019 IEEE 8th International Conference on Fluid Power and Mechatronics (FPM), 2019
In order to investigate the blade torque fluctuation mechanism and provide more insight into torque converter’s internal flow field, this paper established both single-blade passage and full-blade passage transient simulation model. The time dependent blade torque results from single blade-passage simulation method is actually the torque of those ...

A Practical and Adaptive Method to Achieve EMG-Based Torque Estimation for a Robotic Exoskeleton

IEEE/ASME transactions on mechatronics, 2019
To improve the efficacy of robotic exoskeleton-based rehabilitation training, active joint torque of subjects should be detected. This paper presents a practical and adaptive method to estimate active joint torque using electromyography (EMG) signals for

A new torque meter or torque magnetometer

Journal of Scientific Instruments, 1963
A torque meter is described which employs the principles used in work with resistance strain gauges to convert small torques developed in isolated specimens directly into electrical signals. The overall sensitivity and the maximum torque that can be measured with this meter can both be altered appreciably by suitable modifications in design, but for ...

Optimization of Torque Tracking Performance for Direct-Torque-Controlled PMSM Drives With Composite Torque Regulator

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2020
In this article, a composite torque regulator is proposed for optimizing the torque tracking performance in direct torque-controlled permanent-magnet synchronous motor drives.

Direct Torque Control for Switched Reluctance Motor to Obtain High Torque–Ampere Ratio

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2019
The direct torque control (DTC) method was introduced into the switched reluctance motor to reduce its inherent output torque ripple. However, the conventional DTC method produces negative torque more or less, which reduces the torque–ampere ratio of ...

Dual Three-Phase PMSM Torque Modeling and Maximum Torque per Peak Current Control Through Optimized Harmonic Current Injection

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2019
Vector space decomposition (VSD) model is widely used for dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine (dual-PMSM) control, in which two direct-quadrature (DQ) frames, DQ1 and DQ2, are introduced to facilitate the controller design.
