Modern improvement techniques of direct torque control for induction motor drives - a review

open access: yesProtection and Control of Modern Power Systems, 2019
Conventional direct torque control (DTC) is one of the excellent control strategies available to control the torque of the induction machine (IM). However, the low switching frequency of the DTC causes high ripples in the flux and torque that leads to an

Forces Perspective of Drillability of Titanium Alloy 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo [PDF]

open access: yesJEMMME (Journal of Energy, Mechanical, Material, and Manufacturing Engineering), 2018
This paper concerns on drillability of Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo (Ti-6246) from the point view of thrust force (Fz) & torque (Mz) using a TiAlN CVD coated carbide tool. The condition of the material was varied with three different heat treatments.

Biologically‐Inspired Melt Electrowriting for the Generation of Highly Biomimetic Functional Myocardium

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, melt electrowriting is used to fabricate a 3D printed scaffold design that generates engineered cardiac tissues with in‐plane contraction, mimicking natural myocardium. It is shown that these tissues display advanced maturation and functionality.

Long spin coherence length and bulk-like spin–orbit torque in ferrimagnetic multilayers [PDF]

open access: yesNature Materials, 2018
Spintronics relies on magnetization switching through current-induced spin torques. However, because spin transfer torque for ferromagnets is a surface torque, a large switching current is required for a thick, thermally stable ferromagnetic cell, and ...

Carbon Nanotube 3D Integrated Circuits: From Design to Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
As Moore's law approaches its physical limits, carbon nanotube (CNT) 3D integrated circuits (ICs) emerge as a promising alternative due to the miniaturization, high mobility, and low power consumption. CNT 3D ICs in optoelectronics, memory, and monolithic ICs are reviewed while addressing challenges in fabrication, design, and integration.
