A method of measuring windmill torque loss coefficients

Renewable Energy, 1991
Abstract The aim of this work is to investigate a method of measuring windmill torque loss coefficients of a windmill power system. We discussed the mathematical windmill model and defined the windmill torque loss coefficients. An estimating technique based on Kalman filtering was developed for decision of the value of these coefficients.

Torque Ripple Reduction of IPMSM with Concentrated Winding Based on Adaptive Identification of Equivalent Torque Coefficient

2018 XIII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2018
This paper proposes a torque ripple reduction of IPMSM with concentrated winding based on the adaptive identification of the equivalent torque coefficient. First, a torque ripple estimation method is derived. Next, the torque ripple reduction is proposed, which are based on the adaptive identification of the equivalent torque coefficient.

Airscrew Torque‐Coefficient

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1945
THERE are reasons for believing that in certain states of working, the resultant aerodynamic force on a blade element of an airscrew is normal to a helicoidal surface. The object of the present inquiry was to see to what extent this is borne out by experimental results.

Harmonic Coefficients of Engine Torque Curves

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1943
Abstract Engine torque curves depend upon the combined effects of gas pressures, inertia forces, and weights. Tables for the harmonic coefficients of the torque due to inertia and weight effects are given for a wide range of crank-to-connecting-rod ratios.

Estimation of Synchronizing and Damping Torque Coefficients Using Deep Learning

2019 IEEE Jordan International Joint Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (JEEIT), 2019
This paper presents a deep learning based approach for small-signal stability of a single machine connected to infinite bus. The proposed approach is based on an optimal estimation of the synchronizing and damping torque coefficients of the synchronous generator by optimal measurement of the operating conditions including the voltage, real power and ...

Estimating the synchronizing and damping torque coefficients using Kalman filtering

Electric Power Systems Research, 1999
Abstract This paper presents an optimal approach for optimal estimation of the synchronizing and damping torque coefficients of a synchronous machine using two-state linear Kalman filter. These coefficients can be used as indices which provide insight into the dynamic stability of power systems.

Roll-Force and Torque Coefficients for Hot-Strip Steel Mill

Journal of Basic Engineering, 1960
This paper provides results of an analytical and computer investigation to determine the numerical coefficients involved in the roll-force and roll-torque equations pertaining to a single stand in a multistand, tandem, steel rolling mill. To the authors’ knowledge, such information has not appeared in the literature to date.

Additional Mechanical Torque Coefficients of Hydro Turbine and Governor System

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
The change of mechanical torque is usually ignored in small disturbance of power systems, which means that influences of the hydro turbine and governor system (HTGS) have been ignored. The disturbance characteristics of the hydro turbine generating units including the HTGS is studied based on torque coefficients method in this paper, and calculating ...

EFFECT OF STATIC VAR COMPENSATOR UPON SYNCHRONIZING TORQUE COEFFICIENT

Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1997
Abstract As power systems have increased in size and complexity, and as the number of power ties between different systems has increased, the nature of the system stability has changed. A static var compensator (SVC), constructed by fixed capacitor (FC) and thyristor controlled reactor (TCR), is designed and implemented to improve the damping of a ...

Torque coefficient analysis of multi-device power systems

Sixth International Conference on AC and DC Power Transmission, 1996
This paper describes the development of a multimachine, multi-device dynamic stability program based on the complex torque coefficient technique which has received limited attention in the literature. Unlike the conventional techniques, this approach aims to give a clearer explanation of the complex mechanisms that are responsible for synchronous ...
