Frequency dependant estimation of damping and synchronizing torque coefficients in power systems

2012 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting, 2012
One of the challenging problems in large interconnected networks is finding oscillation frequency and damping factors of the system electro-mechanical oscillations, which is usually done by eigenanalysis techniques. In this paper a novel and simple method is proposed to find the synchronizing and damping torque coefficients to estimate the oscillation ...

The Application of Complex Torque Coefficient Method in Multi-generator System

2011
A multi-input and multi-output linear model of multi-machine power system was established based on perturbation analysis, and the complex torque coefficient of target generator was deduced in detail. From a mathematical perspective, the meaning of complex torque coefficient was explained.

Using Coefficients to Predict Dynamic Flow Torque for Quarter‐Turn Valves

Journal AWWA, 1993
Quarter‐turn types of valves are subject to stresses and torques produced by the flow forces in the valve and by the rotation of the valve disk with an actuator. This article discusses the different types of torque to which a valve can be exposed, focusing on the use of dynamic flow torque coefficients to predict and evaluate flow torque.

PREDICTING MAKEUP TORQUE OF THREADED TAPERED CONNECTIONS AND EVALUATION OF COEFFICIENTS OF FRICTION

Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1984
ABSTRACT This paper will show how it is possible to generate a general purpose formula to determine the amount of torque required to make up non-shouldering tapered threaded connections as are commonly used on tubing and casing connections.
