Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

The analogy method for the description of external characteristic of inner combustion engines [PDF]

open access: yesTransport, 2004
The original data for the evaluation of vehicle motion dynamics is external characteristic of its engine, which consists of three parameters: torque, power and specific fuel consumption.

Preliminary design of rim-electric driven propeller and effect factor analysis on cogging torque

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu, 2018
[Objectives] Cogging torque has an important influence on the blade vibration of a Rim-Electric Driven Propeller (REDP). In order to investigate a method for reducing the cogging torque of REDP, this paper analyzes the combination of slot number, pole ...

Simulation of wind turbine wake interaction using the vorticity transport model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aerodynamic interactions that can occur within a wind farm can result in the constituent turbines generating a lower power output than would be possible if each of the turbines were operated in isolation.

Multimodal Mechanical Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti6Al4V Lattice Structures: Compression, Bending, and Fatigue

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Performance Characteristics of an Orthopter-Type Vertical Axis Wind Turbine in Shear Flows

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
To properly conduct a micro-siting of an orthopter-type vertical axis wind turbine (O-VAWT) in the built environment, this study investigated the effects of horizontal shear flow on the power performance characteristics of an O-VAWT by performing wind ...

Micro-macro transition and simplified contact models for wet granular materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Wet granular materials in a quasi-static steady state shear flow have been studied with discrete particle simulations. Macroscopic quantities, consistent with the conservation laws of continuum theory, are obtained by time averaging and spatial coarse ...

Piezoresistive Monitoring of Carbon Nanomaterial‐Reinforced Epoxy Composites Under Cyclic and Fatigue Loading: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon nanomaterial‐reinforced epoxy composites exhibit pronounced piezoresistive behavior, enabling intrinsic damage sensing under cyclic and fatigue loading. This review critically compares carbon nanotube and graphene systems, correlating filler content, percolation threshold, and gauge factor with sensing stability and damage evolution.

Hybrid Torque Coefficient Control of Average-to-Peak Ratio for Turbine Angular Velocity Reduction in Oscillating-Water-Column-Type Wave Energy Converter

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Wave energy converters (WECs) have significant potential to meet the increasing energy demands and using an oscillating water column (OWC) is one of the most reliable ways to implement them.
