Analytical Investigation on the Damping Performance of Atorque Converter in an Automotive Driveline Model

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
Torque converters are avital part of automatic transmission vehicles. In this paper the influence of a torque converter on the lowest mode of driveline vibrations (shuffle mode) is investigated.

Design and comparative evaluation of converter topologies for six-phase switched reluctance motor drives

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This paper presents a novel converter topology for six-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives, which reduces the number of switches and diodes by half, compared with the conventional asymmetric half-bridge (AHB) converter, and needs no additional ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Direct Instantaneous Torque Control of the Switched Reluctance Motor for Electric Vehicles Applications Using Fuzzy Logic Control

open access: yesActa Technica Jaurinensis, 2019
This paper presents direct torque control of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) using Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) for electric vehicles applications. The PD-FLC is proposed for SRM torque control, to keep the torque of the motor shaft in tracking the ...

Application of slotted blade in the improvement of turbomachinery performance

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
Flow separation is ubiquitous in turbomachinery. Compared with the more mature turbomachinery flow separation control method where the medium is gas, the turbomachinery flow separation method where the medium is liquid cannot be controlled well.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Feasibility of high frequency alternating current power distribution for the automobile auxiliary electrical system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This study investigates the feasibility and potential benefits of high frequency alternating current (HFAC) for vehicle auxiliary electrical systems. A 100Vrms, 50kHz sinusoidal AC bus is compared with 14V DC and 42V DC electrical systems in terms of ...
