A Method to Improve Torque Density in a Flux-Switching Permanent Magnet Machine

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
With the continuous development of machines, various structures emerge endlessly. In this paper, a novel 6-stator-coils/17-rotor-teeth (6/17) E-shaped stator tooth flux switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machine is introduced, which has magnets added in ...

Dependence of the Spin Transfer Torque Switching Current Density on the Exchange Stiffness Constant

open access: yes, 2012
We investigate the dependence of the switching current density on the exchange stiffness constant in the spin transfer torque magnetic tunneling junction structure with micromagnetic simulations.

Reconfigurable Magnetic Soft Microrobot for Acoustically Triggered Targeted Bacterial Sterilization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Reconfigurable magnetic soft microrobots integrate in situ‐grown piezoelectric zinc oxide nanorods that produce reactive oxygen species upon acoustic excitation. Combining magnetically guided transport with thermally induced planar reconfiguration, the microrobots achieve targeted delivery and enhanced bacterial sterilization through efficient on ...

Evaluation of Bone Density for Primary Implant Stability Using a Newly Designed Drill: An In Vitro Study on Polyurethane Bone Blocks

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research
Objectives Bone density is an important factor for long‐term implant success. Peri‐implant bone density evaluation before implant placement can be useful for treatment planning, such as the selection of proper implant size or drilling protocol in each ...

Large Torque Variations in Two Soft Gamma Repeaters

open access: yes, 2002
We have monitored the pulse frequencies of the two soft gamma repeaters SGR 1806-20 and SGR 1900+14 through the beginning of year 2001 using primarily Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer Proportional Counter Array observations.

Thickness‐Dependent Skyrmion Evolution in Fe3GeTe2 During Magnetization Reversal

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thickness‐ and field‐dependent magnetic domain behavior in 2D van der Waals Fe3GeTe2 is studied using Lorentz TEM and micromagnetic simulations. A patch‐like domain phase evolves from skyrmions during magnetization reversal, and step edges between thickness regions act as pinning sites.

Fast design method of variable flux reluctance machines

open access: yesCES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2018
In this paper, a fast design method is developed based on a combination of analytical and finite element (FE) methods for variable flux reluctance machines (VFRMs).

Force and torque acting on particles in a transitionally rough open channel flow

open access: yes, 2011
Direct numerical simulation of open channel flow over a geometrically rough wall has been performed at a bulk Reynolds number of approximately 2900. The wall consisted of a layer of spheres in a square arrangement. Two cases have been considered.

A Smart Magnetically Actuated Flip‐Disc Programmable Metasurface with Ultralow Power Consumption for Real‐Time Channel Control

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study proposes a 1‐bit programmable metasurface based on flip‐disc display, named flip‐disc metasurface (FD‐MTS). This new design enables ultralow energy consumption while maintaining coding patterns. It also exhibits high scalability and multifunctional flexibility.

Magnonic spin-transfer torque MRAM with low power, high speed, and error-free switching

open access: yes, 2011
A new class of spin-transfer torque magnetic random access memory (STT-MRAM) is discussed, in which writing is achieved using thermally initiated magnonic current pulses as an alternative to conventional electric current pulses.
