A Rotationally Asymmetric Reluctance Machine With Improved Torque Density

Reluctance machines (RM) have desirable features including low rotor and no-load rotational losses. In this paper, a new type of RM is introduced, namely the asymmetrical RM. This machine has higher torque density than a conventional RM and is useful in situations where low rotor and no-load rotational losses are desirable.
