Cogging torque reduction methods

2014 Electric Power Quality and Supply Reliability Conference (PQ), 2014
This paper considers the study of methods for reduction of the cogging torque in permanent magnet machines. Cogging torque has been analyzed to be reduced by slot skewing, width of slot opening, magnet pole radius and also by mounting of the magnets.

Interlayer magnetic coupling: The torque method

Physical Review B, 1996
We present ab initio calculations of the interlayer exchange coupling between two, in general noncollinearly aligned magnetic slabs embedded in a nonmagnetic spacer. Based on a surface Green’s function formalism, two equivalent but formally and physically different approaches are examined and discussed. For the Co/Cu/ Co~001!

Femoral Transverse Torque: An Assessment Method

Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy, 1986
This study compared external and internal femoral torques of asymptomatic male and female subjects. Peak torque values were recorded using the Cybex(R) II isokinetic dynamometer utilizing a prone testing position with the hip in neutral. Males produced significantly higher raw peak torques than females in both external and internal rotation (p < 0.003).

Research on Torque Hysteresis Amplitude Adjustable Direct Torque Control Method

2010 International Conference on Innovative Computing and Communication and 2010 Asia-Pacific Conference on Information Technology and Ocean Engineering, 2010
The direct torque control (DTC) technique has been widely used as a control strategy for motor drive system. High torque ripple is a major problem when the motor is running at low speed in DTC system. By analyzing the causes of torque ripple, it is can be found that the change of the speed error signal is a good indicator to determine the situation of ...

Instantaneous Torque Control of SRM with a Logical Torque Sharing Method

2007 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2007
A novel non-linear logical torque sharing function (TSF) is presented. To improve efficiency and to reduce torque ripple in commutation region, only a phase torque under commutation is regulated to produce a uniform torque. And the torque developed by the other phase remains with the previous state under a current limit of the motor and drive.

Torque Control Method of an Electromagnetic Spherical Motor Using Torque Map

IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, 2016
This paper describes a new method for driving electromagnetic type spherical motors that has arranged permanent magnets on a rotor and arranged electromagnets on a stator. The most significant feature of this method is, in principle, applicable to any permanent magnets arrangement and electromagnets arrangement, and it can generate torque to any ...

Feedforward Method of Engine Torque Estimiation

2006 IEEE International Conference on Vehicular Electronics and Safety, 2006
Engine effective torque is a very important performance parameter as well as control parameter. In this paper, a feedforward method of engine torque estimation is presented. After the engine control parameters such as injection pulse width and engine effective torque are gained through engine steady-state experiment, three one-stage statistical models ...
