Predictive torque control of DFIG with torque ripple reduction
2016 IEEE International Conference on Power and Energy (PECon), 2016A novel predictive direct torque control (DTC) based on cost function for doubly fed induction generator is proposed in this paper. Finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) predicts the torque and rotor flux for the next duration of switching and chooses and applies the best voltage vector for adjusting the electromagnetic torque and the ...

High-torque low-torque-ripple fractional-slot PM-motors
IEEE International Conference on Electric Machines and Drives, 2005., 2005A performance analysis of different fractional slot machines is given. It is searched suitable fractional slot constructions for a machine with 225-frame size, 45 kW power and a speed of 400 rpm. These are values that are typically applied in paper machines.

Suppressing Pulsating Torques: Torque Ripple Control for Synchronous Motors
IEEE Industry Applications Magazine, 2014This article proposes a novel control technique for suppressing pulsating torques in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) and synchronous reluctance motors (Syn-RMs). This torque-control system is based on instantaneous torque estimation with a rigorous analytical model that can account for spatial harmonics.

Torque Ripple Verification in PM Machines
EUROCON 2005 - The International Conference on "Computer as a Tool", 2005In this paper, the problem of the ripple torque experienced with permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) is discussed and solved by adopting advanced simulation tools. The two pulsating torque components are identified: the cogging (detent) torque and the slot harmonics caused ripple.

Accurate Torque Ripple Measurement for PMSM
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2011Torque ripple in permanent-magnet synchronous motors is generally undesirable. Significant work has been done to minimize this torque, either by modifying the mechanical motor design or by careful controller design. Surprisingly, however, little work has been published on the accuracy of torque ripple measurement.

Torque Ripple Minimization for Induction Motor Drives with Direct Torque Control
Electric Power Components and Systems, 2004Direct torque control (DTC) schemes can produce quick and robust responses, but they usually behave like hysteresis controllers. Consequently there are similar problems like non constant switching frequencies and high torque ripple especially when operation conditions result in low switching frequencies.

BLDCM Commutation Torque Ripple Strategy Optimization
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014First of all, this article creates the mathematical model of blushless DC Motor. Secondly, analysis the reduction theory of commutation torque ripple. Finally, put forward a strategy to reduce the commutation torque ripple from the low-speed level and high-speed level.

ASCOT Modelling of Ripple Effects on Toroidal Torque
Contributions to Plasma Physics, 2008AbstractToroidal field ripple, δ =(Bmax ‐Bmin )/(Bmax +Bmin ), in ITER will be relatively large, about 0.5% at the outer midplane. Due to the importance of toroidal rotation on plasma stability and confinement it is important to understand the consequences of a non‐negligible ripple field on rotation.

Torque ripple reduction of a variable flux motor
2016 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2016This paper examines torque ripple in a new topology of variable flux machine with AlNiCo magnet. To reduce the torque ripple, the design and finite element modeling of this machine are reviewed and the finite element model results are verified with the prototyped motor. The effects of various electrical, magnetic and geometrical parameters such as load,

Direct Torque Controlled Induction Motor Drive with Reduced Torque Ripple
2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2006Direct torque control (DTC) drive allows direct and independent control of flux linkage and electromagnetic torque by the selection of optimum inverter switching modes. But the possibility of generation of only six non-zero voltage vectors results in the production of ripples in the electromagnetic torque and stator flux linkages.
