Saliency-based sensorless predictive torque control with reduced torque ripple
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2012The proposed sensorless predictive torque control (PTC) scheme relies on the anisotropy of the inductance, assuming a continuous presence of a slight current ripple. At high speed, this condition is fulfilled inherently, while at low speed it has to be ensured by an arbitrary voltage injection.

Torque ripple reduction in direct torque controlled Brushless DC motor
2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2011This paper describes torque ripple reduction in direct torque controlled Brushless DC Motor. The zero voltage vector in present most direct torque control technique is defined as the state when all switches are turn-off. However, in studying the circuit of the switch state in each sector, recognized the voltage of motor windings are not zero. Thus, six

Torque ripple suppression control for permanent magnet motors
2014 European Control Conference (ECC), 2014Permanent magnet motors are largely employed due to their high performances in terms of efficiency, power factor and power density. However, non-uniformity into the generated torque may heavily limit their use. In this paper a novel approach is proposed to cancel torque ripple when motor parameters are unknown.

Torque ripple control for synchronous motors using instantaneous torque estimation
2011 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2011This paper presents a new control technique for minimizing torque ripple in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) and synchronous reluctance motors (Syn.RMs). This control technique is based on instantaneous torque estimation with a new mathematical model.

Torque Ripple Reduction for Step Motors
2003In this chapter, we present controllers that reduce torque ripple for different types of stepper motors. The pulsating torque developed when a stepper motor is full- or half-stepped is known as the torque ripple and is the main cause of exciting resonance in the motor.

Reconfigurable Direct Torque and Flux Control with Torque Ripple Reduction
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2011Abstract This work presents a reconfigurable direct torque and flux control strategy which guarantees good performance in presence of faults in the actuator, the voltage source inverter. It is based on a new quantification of the stator flux vector position means a new definition of sectors on the ab-plane.

Commutation-Torque-Ripple Minimization in Direct-Torque-Controlled PM Brushless DC Drives
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2006This paper describes an improved implementation of direct torque control (DTC) to a permanent-magnet brushless dc (BLDC) drive. The commutation torque ripple, which occurs every 60deg elec. in a conventional three-phase BLDC machine with two-phase 120deg elec.

Torque ripple in synchronous reluctance motor
MELECON '98. 9th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference. Proceedings (Cat. No.98CH36056), 2002The paper describes the calculation and reduction of torque ripple in a synchronous reluctance motor (SRM). The analysis is based on finite element modeling and proposes a method of dynamic torque characteristic calculation. The mutual connection between static and dynamic torque characteristic is also established.

Auto-compensation of torque ripple of DD motor by torque observer
Conference Record of the 1991 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2002A torque control system for DDM (direct drive motor) with a permanent magnet rotor equipped with a torque observer implemented by software of a digital signal processor is proposed. The speed fluctuation against a disturbance can be fully removed with a torque feedforward loop.

Torque ripple reduction in direct torque control of induction motor drives
Proceedings. National Power Engineering Conference, 2003. PECon 2003., 2005This paper gives an overview to the principle of direct torque control (DTC) of induction machines (IM) drives. A summary to the various techniques of torque ripple reduction followed by a proposed simple method to reduce the torque ripple is also presented. Modeling and design methodology of this proposed method are given.
