Improved Direct Torque Control of Induction Motor for Torque Ripple Minimization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
A new direct torque control (DTC) method of an induction motor (IM) which minimizes torque ripple $\left ({T_{ripp} }\right)$ while preserving all the conventional DTC advantages is presented in this paper. Large $T_{ripp}$ and current ripple are the

Explicit Model Predictive Speed Control for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor With Torque Ripple Minimization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) are employed in various high-precision industrial applications. However, the torque ripple caused by nonideal factors, such as cogging torque, flux harmonics, and unbalanced stator phase currents diminishes ...

Torque Ripple Minimization Control Strategy in Synchronous Reluctance Machines

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Industry Applications, 2022
Torque smoothness is an essential requirement for high-performance motor drive applications. Synchronous reluctance machines (SyRM) have high torque ripple due to non-linear magnetic circuit and saturation.

Torque Ripple Minimization of Doubly Salient Permanent-Magnet Motors [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2005
Due to the nature of salient poles in both the stator and rotor, the doubly salient permanent-magnet (DSPM) motor suffers from severe torque ripples. In this paper, the torque ripple of DSPM motors is analyzed, and the torque ripple factor is newly derived.

Topology Optimization of the Harmonic Content for Torque Ripple Minimization

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Magnetics
This paper proposes a formulation to minimize the torque ripple of switched reluctance machines by means of topology optimization. The novelty lies in targeting critical harmonics which allows for more control, both in the design of the rotor and the harmonic content of the torque, during the ripple minimization.

Torque ripple minimization of a switched reluctance motor [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 1995 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition - APEC'95, 1995
This paper presents a simple technique to minimize torque ripple of a switched reluctance motor. The technique is based on the control of the sum of the square of the phase currents by using only two current sensors and analog multipliers. The simulation results and a proposed circuit are given.
