Domain Wall Rebounds Driven by Competing Entropic and Spin‐Transfer Torques in Cylindrical Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Domain‐wall motion in cylindrical magnetic nanowires driven by nanosecond current pulses. Low current densities efficiently displace domain walls, whereas higher currents cause rebound at the wire ends. The effect results from the interplay between spin‐transfer torque and thermally induced processes, highlighting the role of thermal gradients in ...

Analytical description of ballistic spin currents and torques in magnetic tunnel junctions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this work we demonstrate explicit analytical expressions for both charge and spin currents which constitute the 2x2 spinor in magnetic tunnel junctions with noncollinear magnetizations under applied voltage. The calculations have been performed within

Conductive Bonding and System Architectures for High‐Performance Flexible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review outlines bonding technologies and structural design strategies that support high‐performance flexible and stretchable electronics. Bonding approaches such as surface‐activated bonding and anisotropic conductive films, together with system‐level architectures including buffer layers and island‐bridge structures, possess distinct mechanical ...

Analysis of vehicle static steering torque based on tire–road contact patch sliding model and variable transmission ratio

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2016
Static steering torque at parking is an important factor for steering portability of vehicle. At present, the most commonly used estimation method is empirical formula calculation, which, however, cannot explain the phenomenon that the steering torque ...

Transplacental transmission of torque teno virus

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2017
Background TTV has been detected in almost every human tissue type or body fluid reaching near 100% prevalence. Several studies report mother-to-child postnatal transmission of TTV in infancy but the risk of transplacental transmission of TTV is still ...

MAGTWIST: A Magnetically‐Driven Rotary Actuator Using a Traveling‐Wave With Integrated Stiffness Tunability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.

Study on Shifting Performance of Tractor Multi-Clutch under Different Engagement Rules

open access: yesAgriculture
When shifting gears around a tractor’s power shift transmission, it is necessary to coordinate the control of multiple clutches and formulate a reasonable clutch engagement law to ensure the reliability and power of the power system.

Vertical axis wind turbine drive train transient dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Start up of a vertical axis wind turbine causes transient torque oscillations in the drive train with peak torques which may be over two and one half times the rated torque of the turbine.

Cable-Driven Actuation for Highly Dynamic Robotic Systems

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents design and experimental evaluations of an articulated robotic limb called Capler-Leg. The key element of Capler-Leg is its single-stage cable-pulley transmission combined with a high-gap radius motor.

Temperature‐Induced Nonvolatile Switching through Thermal Hysteresis in a Gd3Fe5O12/Ho3Fe5O12 Exchange‐Coupled Rare‐Earth Iron Garnet Bilayer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Reducing power consumption in spintronic memory remains a major challenge due to the need for high current densities. A bilayer of gadolinium and holmium iron garnets enables purely temperature‐induced, nonvolatile magnetic switching with bistable states within a ±25 K range. This approach achieves up to 66‐fold lower energy use than current spin–orbit
