MR Continuously Variable Transmission Driven by SMA for Centrifugal Fan in Nuclear Power Plant

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations, 2012
The running efficiency of centrifugal fan affects the economical efficiency of the ventilation system. In this paper, we proposed a continuously variable transmission system based on magnetorheological fluid and shape memory alloy for improving the ...

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Analysis of the Influence of Clutch Drag Torque on the Efficiency of Hydro-mechanical Continuously Variable Transmission

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2022
In order to study the influence of multiple clutches on the transmission efficiency of a hydro-mechanical continuously variable transmission (HMCVT),the structure characteristics of a closed loop consisting of multiple wet friction clutches in the ...

Split torque transmission load sharing [PDF]

open access: yes
Split torque transmissions are attractive alternatives to conventional planetary designs for helicopter transmissions. The split torque designs can offer lighter weight and fewer parts but have not been used extensively for lack of experience, especially

Spin Transport at Interfaces with Spin-Orbit Coupling: Phenomenology

open access: yes, 2016
This paper presents the boundary conditions needed for drift-diffusion models to treat interfaces with spin-orbit coupling. Using these boundary conditions for heavy metal/ferromagnet bilayers, solutions of the drift-diffusion equations agree with ...

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.

Bio‐Inspired Magnetically Tunable Structural Colors from Elliptical Self‐Assembled Block Copolymer Microparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cephalopod‐inspired photonic microparticles with dynamic structural coloration are fabricated via confined self‐assembly of linear block copolymers into ellipsoids containing stacked lamellae. Embedded superparamagnetic nanoparticles enable rapid magnetic alignment, restoring vivid, angle‐dependent color.

The design and analysis of single flank transmission error tester for loaded gears [PDF]

open access: yes
To strengthen the understanding of gear transmission error and to verify mathematical models which predict them, a test stand that will measure the transmission error of gear pairs under design loads has been investigated.

The Dynamic Model of Plane Mechanism with Variable Ratio. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The paper contains the proposal how to reduce many–elements plane mechanism with one degree of freedom to chosen axis or line as one–element model of mechanism.

Non-adiabatic spin torque investigated using thermally activated magnetic domain wall dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Using transmission electron microscopy, we investigate the thermally activated motion of domain walls (DWs) between two positions in permalloy (Ni80Fe20) nanowires at room temperature.
