Non-Intermittent Sampled-Data Consensus of Networked Euler-Lagrange Systems Using Dynamic Scaling Without Neighbors’ Velocity Measurement

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes a non-intermittent control scheme for the consensus of multiple Euler-Lagrange systems under sampled-data communication without using neighbors’ velocities.

Electrochemical Abuse‐Driven Thermal Runaway in Lithium‐Ion Batteries: Evolution From Beginning‐of‐Life to End‐of‐Life

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical abuse transforms thermal runaway behavior in lithium‐ion batteries. Through systematic decoupling of degradation mechanisms, this study reveals that lithium plating lowers the onset temperature by 10 °C, electrolyte consumption delays high‐temperature reactions, and capacity fade reduces total heat generation. These mechanistic insights

Evaluation of the static and dynamic assistive torque of a passive upper limb occupational exoskeleton

open access: yesWearable Technologies
Adjusting the assistive torque of upper limb occupational exoskeletons is essential to optimize their effectiveness and user acceptance in companies. This adjustment enables a balance to be struck between the expected benefits and potential undesirable ...

Interconnected Porous Hydrogels with Tunable Anisotropy Through Aqueous Emulsion Bioprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D bioprintable microporous bioink is developed using an aqueous two‐phase system (ATPS) composed of extracellular matrix (ECM) mimetic biopolymers. The ATPS bioink enables the fabrication of interconnected porous architectures with up to 70% porosity, supporting long‐term cell viability and 3D cell alignment, enabling a simultaneous generation of ...

Controlled Movement of Soft Actuators using Multi‐Responsive Microgel Arrays and Microcirculatory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microscale hydrogels (microgels) feature improved mass transport characteristics supportive of fast actuation and chemical tunability amenable to programmed stimuli response. A unique soft actuator architecture is realized by encapsulating microgels in soft microcirculatory systems which enable the convenient delivery of liquid stimuli for powering and

Mountain torques in quasigeostrophic theory

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 2003
Mountain torques are generated by the interaction of pressure gradients and orography. It is shown that mountain torques in this sense are excluded in quasigeostrophic theory (QT).

Prediction of Pasting Properties of Dough from Mixolab Measurements Using Artificial Neuronal Networks

open access: yesFoods, 2019
An artificial neuronal network (ANN) system was conducted to predict the Mixolab parameters which described the wheat flour starch-amylase part (torques C3, C4, C5, and the difference between C3-C4and C5-C4, respectively) from physicochemical properties (

Dual‐Functional Li2B4O7 Coating on Carbon Fibers for Enhanced Li+ Transport and Stability in Sulfide All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐functional Li2B4O7 coating on carbon fibers is designed to resolve the critical interfacial degradation in sulfide all‐solid‐state batteries. The conformal layer acts as a physical barrier to suppress parasitic reactions while its unique dielectric properties simultaneously facilitate Li+ transport.

A Biologically‐Architected Wear and Damage‐Resistant Nanoparticle Coating From the Radular Teeth of Cryptochiton stelleri

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The ultrahard teeth of mollusks that feed on rocky substrates contain a wear‐resistant coating on their surfaces consisting of densely packed mesocrystalline magnetic nanoparticles within an organic matrix. These coatings display significant hardness and toughness through their highly controlled mesocrystalline architectures.

Research Update: Spin transfer torques in permalloy on monolayer MoS2

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2016
We observe current induced spin transfer torque resonance in permalloy (Py) grown on monolayer MoS2. By passing rf current through the Py/MoS2 bilayer, field-like and damping-like torques are induced which excite the ferromagnetic resonance of Py.
