Extending higher derivations to rings and modules of quotients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A torsion theory is called differential (higher differential) if a derivation (higher derivation) can be extended from any module to the module of quotients corresponding to the torsion theory.

On torsion in finitely presented groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We give a uniform construction that, on input of a recursive presentation $P$ of a group, outputs a recursive presentation of a torsion-free group, isomorphic to $P$ whenever $P$ is itself torsion-free.

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Directional torsion and temperature discrimination based on a multicore fiber with a helical structure.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a directional torsion sensor based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer formed in a multicore fiber (MCF) with a ~570-μm-long helical structure (HS). The HS was fabricated into the MCF by simply pre-twisting and then

A note on torsion length and torsion subgroups

open access: yesJournal of Group Theory, 2022
Abstract Answering Questions 19.23 and 19.24 from the Kourovka notebook, we construct polycyclic groups with arbitrary torsion lengths and give examples of finitely presented groups whose quotients by their torsion subgroups are not finitely presented.

Integrative systems‐level analysis reveals a contextual crosstalk between hypoxia and global metabolism in human breast tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast tumor samples scored for metabolic deregulation (M1 to M3) were given a hypoxia score (HS). The highest HS occurred in patients with strongest metabolic deregulation (M3), supporting tumor aggressiveness. HS correlated with the highest number of metabolic pathways in M1. This suggests hypoxia to be an early event in metabolic deregulation.

Multiple paraovarian cysts requiring emergency surgery: A rare clinical finding

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2022
This report presents an unusual case of multiple paraovarian cysts that required emergency surgery due to a paraovarian cyst being entrapped by another paraovarian cyst.

Modeling of torsion stress giant magnetoimpedance in amorphous wires with negative magnetostriction

open access: yes, 2007
A model describing the influence of torsion stress on the giant magnetoimpedance in amorphous wires with negative magnetostriction is proposed. The wire impedance is found by means of the solution of Maxwell equations together with the Landau-Lifshitz ...
