Reading between the rational sections: Global structures of 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$ KK theories

open access: yesSciPost Physics
We study how the global structure of rank-one 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric field theories is encoded into global aspects of the Seiberg-Witten elliptic fibration.

Knee Extensor Structure and Function in Children, Adolescents, Adults, and Older Adults With Obesity: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aims to evaluate the association between obesity and both absolute and relative measures of knee extensor muscle structure and contractile function across different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Methods A search for potential studies was performed in four electronic databases.

Long-term effects of the testicular torsion on the spermatogenesis of the contralateral testis and the preventive value of the twisted testis orchiepididymectomy Efeitos tardios da torção testicular sobre a espermatogênese do testículo contralateral e o valor preventivo da orquiepididimectomia do testículo torcido

open access: yesActa Cirúrgica Brasileira, 2012
PURPOSE: To determine whether the testicular torsion causes long-term effects on the spermatogenesis of the contralateral testis, and whether the orchiepididymectomy of the twisted testis could prevent them, using specific spermatogenesis parameters to ...

Exploring Appropriate Positioning of the Spiral Blade in Treatment of Subtrochanteric Fractures of the Femur Using Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
Given the differences in age, injury mechanism, and anatomy between subrotator and intertrochanteric fractures, the conventional TAD and CAL‐TAD may not be suitable for intertrochanteric fractures. This study retrospectively reviewed subrotator fractures complications to find the optimal position for subrotator fractures.

The torsion in symmetric powers on congruence subgroups of Bianchi groups

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 2019
In this paper we prove that for a fixed neat principal congruence subgroup of a Bianchi group the order of the torsion part of its second cohomology group with coefficients in an integral lattice associated with the m m th symmetric power of the standard representation of SL 2 ⁡ (

The Prevalence and Risk Factors of Residual Back Pain After Vertebroplasty for Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
A systematic review and meta‐analysis reveal that the overall prevalence of residual back pain after vertebroplasty for OVCFs is 16.3% (16.1% in females, 15.9% in males), with risk factors including thoracolumbar fascia injury, unsatisfactory cement distribution, low pre‐bone mineral density, multiple vertebral fractures, etc.

General relativity as a biconformal gauge theory

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
We consider the conformal group of a space of dimn=p+q, with SO(p,q) metric. The quotient of this group by its homogeneous Weyl subgroup gives a principal fiber bundle with 2n-dim base manifold and Weyl fibers.

The OP subgroup of a torsion-free LCA group

open access: yes, 2023
Let $G$ be a locally compact abelian (LCA) group. We denote by $G_{op}$, the intersection of all open pure subgroups of $G$, which we call the $OP$ subgroup of $G$. In this paper, we prove that the $OP$ subgroup of a torsion-free LCA group $G$ is a non-zero pure subgroup of $G$.
