Simulation on compound percussive drilling: Estimation based on multidimensional impact cutting with a single cutter

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2021
In the present study, a 3D FEM of compound percussive system considering a loading–unloading cycle was employed to simulate the dynamic single-cutter-rock interaction.

Development and Field Test of the Same-Frequency Different-Phase Compound Impact Tool

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2023
A same-frequency different-phase compound impact tool was developed to improve the rock-breaking efficiency of PDC bits in hard formations, increase the penetration depth of cutters, and eliminate the “stick-slip” phenomenon of the downhole bit.The ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Experimental investigation of torsional vibration isolation using Magneto Rheological Elastomer

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Rotating systems suffer from lateral and torsional vibrations which have detrimental effect on the roto-dynamic performance. Many available technologies such as vibration isolators and vibration absorbers deal with the torsional vibrations to a certain ...

Numerical Simulation on Effects of Phase Difference on Rock-Breaking Efficiency Under Compound Impact

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2023
Previous researches on rock-breaking efficiency under compound impact neglect the effects of the phase difference between axial and torsional impact loads.Therefor, such effects were discussed. The single-cutter rock-breaking numerical model of PDC bit ...

Impact torsional behavior and strengthening of reinforced concrete spandrel beams

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2023
The exterior L-shaped spandrel beams frequently experience various forms of eccentric loading that induce torsional stress when used in parking structures.

Oligothiophene wires: impact of torsional conformation on the electronic structure

open access: yesPhysical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2016
Different torsional conformations of alkyl-substituted oligothiophenes show nearly identical progressions of particle-in-a-box-like electronic orbitals.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

The Stress Singularity in a Stepped Bar Under Impact Torsion

open access: yesJSME international journal. Ser. 1, Solid mechanics, strength of materials, 1989
An impact torsion problem for a steppedbar composed of two semi-infinite bars bonded completely at each end is investigated. A stress singularity occurs at the corner of the bars. Therefore the stress analysis proceeds considering this stress singularity by making use of the series expansion technique, and the problems are reduced to an infinite set of
