The Effects of Uncomplicated Cataract Surgery on Retinal Layer Thickness
Purpose. Our aim was to assess changes in the total retinal thickness (TRT), total retinal volume (TRV), and retinal layer thickness after uncomplicated cataract surgery. Methods. A total of 32 eyes of 32 patients who had undergone uncomplicated phacoemulsification surgery and intraocular lens implantation in one eye were enrolled.

Introduction. For management of complicated retinal detachments, a pars plana vitrectomy with temporary silicone oil (SO) fill is the method of choice. According to literature, the retinal redetachment rate varies between <10% and >70% with around 36% in our own group (retrospective data analysis, n = 119 eyes). Methods. The main goal was to reduce the

Purpose. We evaluated the efficacy and safety of a mechanical device, the P‐chute, in corneal endothelium preservation during phacoemulsification in a rabbit model. Methods. Twenty‐four rabbits were randomly assigned into 2 groups. One eye of each rabbit underwent phacoemulsification that simulated the removal of a dense nucleus, with or without the P ...

Purpose. To compare the final incision size and wound structure after the intraocular lens implantation from 2.0 mm transconjunctival single‐plane sclerocorneal incision (TSSI) between the use of a motorized injector at first speed and the use of a manual injector. Methods. Patients were divided into three groups as follows: Group A, a manual injector,

Phacoemulsification in Nanophthalmic Eye, a Way to Manage Glaucoma: Case Report
A rare condition called nanophthalmos causes variable degrees of vision impairment. One may present with nanophthalmos as a hereditary or sporadic condition. There have been documented cases of nanophthalmos treated with bilateral cataract extraction and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation for intractable secondary glaucoma or chronic angle‐closure ...
