Postcranial anatomy of the Miocene hippopotamoids of Toros‐Menalla, Chad
We establish a framework for the identification of postcranial remains in hippopotamoids by describing and comparing for the first time two late Miocene hippopotamoids from Toros‐Menalla, Chad (Hexaprotodon garyam, an early hippopotamid, and Libycosaurus bahri, the last African anthracothere) with the common hippopotamus.

The torsional stiffness of involute spur gears
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2004This paper presents the results of a detailed analysis of torsional stiffness of a pair of involute spur gears in mesh using finite element methods. Adaptive meshing has been employed within a commercial finite element program to reveal the detailed behaviour in the change over region from single- to double-tooth contact zones and vice versa.

Torsional stiffness of reinforced concrete members subjected to pure torsion
Synopsis A method is described for determining the torsional stiffness at the cracked stage of reinforced concrete members subjected to a pure torsional moment. The method is based upon a truss analogy for torsion. Theoretical expressions are deduced for the Torsional stiffness of beams of arbitrary and rectangular cross-sections.
