Precision slew/settle technologies for flexible spacecraft [PDF]
Many spacecraft missions in the next decade will require both a high degree of agility and precision pointing. Agility includes both rotational maneuvering for retargeting and translational motion for orbit adjustment and threat avoidance.

Evaluation of prestress losses in concrete beams using destructive and non‐destructive methods
Abstract Over the past few decades, prestressing techniques have become essential in the construction of key structures, infrastructure, and bridges. The serviceability and safety of prestressed concrete (PC) elements are closely tied to the effectiveness of the prestressing process.

A Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Biradical in the Gas Phase
Hydrogen‐bonded dimers of the TEMPOL radical are investigated by vibrational spectroscopy in the gas phase and shown to occur in at least two conformations, a stretched one with a strong hydrogen bond to the radical centre and a bent one with more pronounced London dispersion interactions. ABSTRACT Persistent organic radicals from the TEMPO family such

New Experimental Limits on Macroscopic Forces Below 100 Microns
Results of an experimental search for new macroscopic forces with Yukawa range between 5 and 500 microns are presented. The experiment uses 1 kHz mechanical oscillators as test masses with a stiff conducting shield between them to suppress backgrounds ...

Geometry Analysis of Two Photon Polymerized Microneedles—An Experimental and Simulated Approach
This research investigates the mechanical stability of hollow, two‐photon‐polymerized microneedles for drug delivery. In an experimental setup, a steel stamp gradually compresses 1000 μm‐tall microneedles while recording their force–deformation response.

Magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) are materials that exhibit a change in their mechanical properties, such as stiffness and damping, in response to an applied magnetic field. In general, MREs consist of an elastomeric matrix and homogeneously dispersed magnetic particles, which allow for adjustable viscoelastic properties when a magnetic field is ...

Field verification of lateral-torsional coupling effects on rotor instabilities in centrifugal compressors [PDF]
Lateral and torsional vibration data obtained on a centrifugal compressor train which had shaft instabilities and gear failures is examined. The field data verifies that the stability of centrifugal compressors can be adversely affected by coincidence of

Different methods to prepare 1,7‐disubstituted tetradecaphenylheptasilanes are explored. The triflated heptasilane TfO‐(SiPh2)7‐OTf reacts with alkali metal halides to produce the 1,7‐dihalogenides X‐(SiPh2)7‐X (X = F, Cl, Br, I). The 1,7‐dihydrogen derivative H‐(SiPh2)7‐H is obtained with LiAlH4 or (i‐Bu)2AlH as reducing agents.

MXene‐Enabled Wearable Biosensors: A Design Framework for Autonomous Biosensing
Bridging nanoscale innovation with MXene to real‐time, patient‐centered health systems. MXenes, a rapidly expanding family of two‐dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides, have emerged as leading materials for wearable bioelectronics due to their metallic conductivity, termination‐rich surfaces, mechanical compliance, and tunable interlayer ...
