Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Dergisi, 2018 Türkiye’de ilk çeltik tarımının yapıldığı Tosya İlçesi’nde kalitesi bakımından ün yapmış "Tosya Pirinci" üretilmektedir. Tosya’da çeltik tarımı, Ilgaz dağlarından doğan Devrez çayının oluşturduğu vadi boyunca 1500’lü yıllarda başlanmış olup, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin ilk çeltik işleme fabrikası da 1925 yılında burada kurulmuştur.
