Mathematical model to estimate the maximum power output of a total cross tied connected PV array during partial shading condition [PDF]

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2019
Estimation of the output power of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system during partial shading condition (PSC) is an interest of PV installers. Owing to the inclusion of a bypass diode, the occurrence of local and global maximum peak creates more difficulty in the calculation of maximum power output from a PV array.

Enhanced power generation for total‐cross‐tied PV array using simulated annealing under partial shading conditions

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2020
Shade phenomena affect the PV module's power output, introduce multiple peak points in PV characteristics, and shorten the expected life cycle of the module. In order to prevent this issue, PV modules should reconfigure, namely, altering the electrical connections between PV modules based on the irradiance without changing their physical locations.

Mathematical model of total cross-tied photovoltaic arrays in mismatching conditions

open access: yes2012 IEEE 4th Colombian Workshop on Circuits and Systems (CWCAS), 2012
This paper presents a mathematical procedure for modeling rectangular (N rows with M modules each) and non-rectangular photovoltaic (PV) arrays in Total Cross-Tied (TCT) configuration operating in uniform and mismatching conditions. The proposed model uses the simple single diode representation for each PV module; then each row of the TCT array is ...

Numerical modeling, simulation and evaluation of conventional and hybrid photovoltaic modules interconnection configurations under partial shading conditions

open access: yesEPJ Photovoltaics, 2022
Partial shading on solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays is a prevalent problem in photovoltaic systems that impair the performance of PV modules and is responsible for reduced power output as compared to that in standard irradiance conditions thereby resulting
