Development of PV array configuration under different partial shading condition

open access: yes, 2019
This paper investigates the performances of different photovoltaic (PV) array under several shading condition. Four types of photovoltaic array configuration scheme which are ‘Series’ (S), Series-Parallel’ (SP), Total-Cross-Tied’ (TCT), and ‘Bridge-Link’

Consensus Formation and Change are Enhanced by Neutrality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neutral agents are shown to enhance both the formation and overturning of consensus in collective decision‐making. A general mathematical model and experiments with locusts and humans reveal that neutrality enables robust consensus via simple interactions and accelerates consensus change by reducing effective population size.

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Two Routes to Land: Genomic Underpinnings of Parallel Aerial Egg Deposition in Aquatic Old‐World Pila and New‐World Pomacea (Ampullariidae)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparative genomics of Gondwana‐diverged Pila and Pomacea reveals parallel evolution of aerial oviposition. Convergent chromosomal rearrangements reshape regulatory landscapes within topologically associating domains. Lineage‐specific gene family expansions and viral‐derived perivitelline proteins (PV1) underpin desiccation resistance.

Optimal Battery‐Based Adaptive Reconfiguration Technique for a Partially Shaded Photovoltaic Array

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
Partial shading is a significant concern that causes a current mismatch between rows, resulting in local power peaks. Dynamic reconfiguration methods may not completely eradicate the current mismatch.

Study and Design of a Diferentially Fed Tapered Slot Antenna Array

open access: yes, 2010
The results of a parametric study and design of an ultrawideband dual-polarized array of differentially-fed tapered slot antenna elements are presented. We examine arrays of bunny-ear antennas and discuss the capabilities and limitations of differential ...

Biolipid Film‐Fused Electrochemiluminescence for Multipurpose In Situ Bioassays

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ECL‐emissive, membrane‐interactive scaffold was fabricated, and facilely fused with natural and non‐native phospholipids into multifactorial mimicries of cytomembranes and vesicles for in vitro representative membrane‐process probing. Such a biointerface‐based, state‐sensitive ECL paradigm not only pinpointed proximal phenomena, including channeling

Seasonal performance comparison of three grid connected photovoltaic systems based on different technologies operating under the same conditions

open access: yes, 2017
Partial shading conditions decrease the power output from PV arrays. In partial shading conditions the PV modules of the array receive the different solar irradiation, so the arrays exhibit multiple peaks in P-V and I-V characteristics hence mismatch ...

Cross layer interaction for IP centric video applications in MIMO broadband wireless networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Next generation mobile technologies must provide the throughput and QoS (Quality of Service) required for ‘triple play’ voice, data and media services. Novel applications are required that fully exploit the capabilities of new technology in a spectrally ...
