Determination of total chromium by flow injection analysis
Analytica Chimica Acta, 1985Abstract The determination of total chromium by flow injection analysis is described. Cerium(IV) and nitric acid are used to convert chromium(III) to chromium(VI); the oxidation rate is enhanced by placing the reaction coil in an 80°C oil bath. 1,5-Diphenylcarbazide is used to form a colored complex with chromium(VI) that is measured at 540 nm.

Chromium (Cr), an essential micronutrient required for glucose metabolism, was found in high concentrations in up to 94% of the patients on short-term total parenteral nutrition. Approximately 50% had serum levels > 10-fold of normal (upper reference value of 3.8 nmol/L), about 18% were > 20-fold, and about 2% were 40-fold higher.

A simple, rapid and sensitive method for the determination of chromium(III) and total chromium using the simple dual T channels on glass chip with negative pressure pumping system and chemiluminescence (CL) detection is presented. The CL reaction was based on luminol oxidation by hydrogen peroxide in basic aqueous solution catalyzed by chromium(III ...

A method for the determination of chromium(III) and total chromium was studied. Chromium(III) was chelated with 0.1 mol l–1 quinolin-8-ol in methanol, extracted with isobutyl methyl ketone and determined by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry.

Permanganate‐Azide Test for Total Chromium in Water
Journal AWWA, 1956chromium and a diphenylcarbazide reagent, resulting in a characteristic reddish-violet color, following Beer's Law. This reaction does not occur with trivalent or bivalent chromium. To facilitate the determination of the total chromium which may be present in a water, it has been found feasible to oxidize the polyvalent chromium ions to the hexavalent ...

Total Energy Calculation for Spin-Density-Wave Chromium
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1998The total energy of the spin-density-wave state in chromium is calculated by means of the first-principles Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker Green function method within the framework of the local spin density functional formalism. The calculation for the case of the experimental lattice constant shows that the total energy per atom becomes the lowest at a wave ...

Total cross-section of chromium at low neutron energies
Annals of Nuclear Energy, 1976Abstract The total neutron cross-section of chromium has been measured in the range 1.3 × 10 −4 to 30 eV by the transmission method with pulsed neutron time of flight techniques. A theoretical fit was performed giving a value of (3.25 ± 0.15) b for σ abs at 0.0253 eV.

An electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometric method was developed for the determination of total and hexavalent chromium in animal feeds. For measuring total chromium the samples were digested in a mixture of three acids (HNO3–HCl–HF). Chromium in its hexavalent state was dissolved in 0.01 mol l–1 NaOH solution.
