Long-Term Evolution of the Ozone Layer Under CMIP7 Scenarios

open access: yesAtmosphere
Recovery of the stratospheric ozone layer following the ban on ozone-depleting substances represents one of the most successful examples of international environmental policy.

Spatial variation of total column ozone on a global scale

open access: yesThe Annals of Applied Statistics, 2007
The spatial dependence of total column ozone varies strongly with latitude, so that homogeneous models (invariant to all rotations) are clearly unsuitable. However, an assumption of axial symmetry, which means that the process model is invariant to rotations about the Earth's axis, is much more plausible and considerably simplifies the modeling.

Oxidative Fast Pyrolysis Enabling Autothermal Production of Porous Functionalized Biochar and Anhydrosugar/Phenol‐Rich Bio‐Oil From Biomass

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Oxidative fast pyrolysis of biomass enables autothermal production of value‐added products. ABSTRACT Oxidative fast pyrolysis can potentially overcome the heat‐supply bottleneck of conventional fast pyrolysis by enabling autothermal operation while also tailoring product quality through controlled oxygen addition.

Trace gas variability and ozone formation regimes in urban and sub-urban landscape over Greater Washington D.C. area

open access: yesAll Earth
Atmospheric trace gases regulate air quality, climate forcing, and public health, yet their vertical distribution and chemical sensitivity remain complex, particularly in heterogeneous urban environments. This study uses four years (2021–2024) of Pandora

Impact of using different ozone cross sections on ozone profile retrievals from Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME) ultraviolet measurements [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2007
We investigate the effect of using three different cross section data sets on ozone profile retrievals from Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME) ultraviolet measurements (289–307 nm, 326–337 nm).

Boosting Bifacial Output Power of Ag‐CIGS Solar Cells by Optimizing ITO Back‐Contact Thickness for Tandem Applications

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Optimized ITO back contact with pre‐Ga supply growth and Ag incorporation suppresses GaOx formation and interface recombination in bifacial CIGS solar cells. The devices achieve 17.25% front and 5.77% rear efficiency, delivering record bifacial power density up to 32.26 mW cm−2 in 4T perovskite/CIGS tandem architectures under enhanced albedo ...

Estimating European volatile organic compound emissions using satellite observations of formaldehyde from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Emission of non-methane Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) to the atmosphere stems from biogenic and human activities, and their estimation is difficult because of the many and not fully understood processes involved.

Rapid and Reusable Amino Acid–Derived MOFs for the Removal of Estrogenic Hormones From Real Water Matrices

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A family of amino‐acid–derived MOFs enables ultrafast (>90–95% in 30 s) simultaneous removal of four estrogenic contaminants from water under SPE conditions. A leucine‐based MOF shows excellent regenerability and robustness in real samples, with structural evidence revealing efficient hormone encapsulation.

Total and tropospheric ozone columns from Sentinel-5P [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In October 2017, the Sentinel-5P satellite with the TROPOMI instrument was launched into space. Total ozone columns from TROPOMI instrument are retrieved in near real time using the well established DOAS approach, and a subsequent conversion into vertical column densities using an iterative air mass factor calculation.
