Breaking the 2‐nm Barrier in Hard Disk Drives Using Monolayer Amorphous Carbon Overcoats

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 15, 12 March 2026.
The rapid growth of AI has increased demand for large‐scale data storage, making HDDs indispensable in data centers. Increasing areal storage density is crucial, but limited by the traditional carbon overcoats (COC). Monolayer amorphous carbon (MAC) offers a superior alternative.

Personalized Nutrition Recommendations Using a Bayesian Mixture Model of Concentration Constraints and Intake Preferences

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 6-7, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Maintaining proper nutrition is crucial for preserving health and preventing disease. However, what constitutes proper nutrition may vary among individuals; evidence indicates that the effects of diet and even single nutrients can differ considerably because of personal characteristics.

Computation of Power Extraction From Photovoltaic Arrays Under Various Fault Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Photovoltaic (PV) faults such as partial shading, bypass-diode defects, degradation of PV modules, and wiring issues greatly affect the power output and cause various peaks in P-V curves of a PV system.

Monolayer Amorphous Carbon: Unlocking Disorder‐Induced Lithiophilicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, 14 January 2026.
Atomic‐scale disorder in monolayer amorphous carbon generates abundant Li binding sites. Combined contact angle, electrochemical, and Density Functional Theory analyses show how this broad distribution of binding energies lowers the contact angle to around 30°, reduces the nucleation overpotential, and yields uniform lithium deposition.

Optimal Battery‐Based Adaptive Reconfiguration Technique for a Partially Shaded Photovoltaic Array

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 1, Page 99-128, January 2026.
OBAR eradicates the current mismatch in two steps: OBAR implements the AR technique by activating the switching circuit 1 to minimize the current mismatch between the rows. If the current mismatch still persists, switching circuit 2 selects the battery of suitable capacity and connects across the rows and inject the required compensation current.

Modelling of Salp Swarm MPPT Algorithm‐Based Quadra‐Tied Solar PV System to Minimise Power Loss in Urban Areas During Shading Scenarios

open access: yesIET Smart Energy Systems, Volume 1, Issue 3, Page 272-288, December 2025.
This research presents a comparative analysis of salp swarm algorithm (SSA) and particle swarm optimisation (PSO) strategies for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) to alleviate the detrimental effects of partial shade on rooftop solar photovoltaic systems in urban settings utilising a quadra‐tied PV array design.

Inhibition of Hippo Signaling Through Ablation of Lats1 and Lats2 Protects Against Cognitive Decline in 5xFAD Mice via Increasing Neuronal Resilience Against Ferroptosis

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 24, Issue 11, November 2025.
5xFAD mice exhibited abnormal activation of Hippo signaling. Ablation of Lats1 and Lats2 in 5xFAD mice to inhibit Hippo signaling resulted in augmented cognition and ameliorated neurodegeneration, which were mediated by increased neuronal resilience against ferroptosis.

Ethnic Polarization and Ownership Decision in Cross‐Border Acquisitions: The Case of Emerging Market Multinational Enterprises

open access: yesBritish Journal of Management, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 1506-1523, October 2025.
Abstract Ethnic issues have been creating complex sociopolitical realities and grand challenges for economic activities in many countries, yet much less is known about their micro‐level effects on international business. This study explores the impact of ethnic polarization in target countries on equity ownership in cross‐border acquisitions (CBAs) by ...
