Hygienic Manipulation Evaluation System during Endotracheal Suctioning using Bilateral Dorsum Manus Total Travel Distance

2020 IEEE/SICE International Symposium on System Integration (SII), 2020
Endotracheal suctioning is a life-threatening technique which requires correct decision-making and immediate reaction to maintain airway clearance. To avoid risks of suctioning, the Closed Suction System (CSS) have been developed. However, there is no consensus regarding the priority use of the CSS compared to the Open Suction System (OSS); the usage ...

Storm travel distance calculations for total phosphorus and suspended materials in rivers

Water Resources Research, 1979
From previous work it appears that total phosphorus is transported through rivers by a series of storm events. This paper presents a method for calculating the average distance of travel during any given storm event. The method uses the hydrograph, chemograph, and flow characteristics at a point in the river.

Effects of Travel Distance on Complications and Outcomes in Total Ankle Arthroplasty

Foot & Ankle Specialist
Owing to the last decade’s increase in the number of total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) procedures performed annually, there is a concern that the disproportionate distribution of orthopaedic surgeons who regularly perform TAA may impact complications and/or patient satisfaction.

Risk for Complication after Total Joint Arthroplasty at a Center of Excellence: The Impact of Patient Travel Distance

The Journal of Arthroplasty, 2015
Healthcare reorganization and bundled payment schemes have resulted in increased patient travel distances in orthopedics. Travel distance has been previously associated with increased complication risk but has yet to be studied in orthopedics. We analyzed the impact of patient travel distance on short-term complications.

The Impact of Travel Distance on Patient-Reported Outcomes Following Primary Total Hip Arthroplasty

The Journal of Arthroplasty
Total hip arthroplasties (THAs) are increasingly being performed at high-volume centers, causing some patients to travel further distances to receive care. Concerns remain that increased travel distance limits follow-up, which may impact outcomes and early return to the hospital. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of travel distance on
