The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Estimating Total Electron Content Using 1,000+ GPS Receivers [PDF]
A computer program uses data from more than 1,000 Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers in an Internet-accessible global network to generate daily estimates of the global distribution of vertical total electron content (VTEC) of the ionosphere.

Patatin domain‐containing (phospho)lipases are lipid‐hydrolyzing enzymes central to metabolism, membrane remodeling, and signaling. Their activity relies on precise co‐activation mechanisms involving protein–protein interactions and conformational rearrangements.

Electrode erosion in steady-state electric propulsion engines [PDF]
The anode and cathode of a 30 kW class arcjet engine were sectioned and analyzed. This arcjet was operated for a total time of 573 hr at power levels between 25 and 30 kW with ammonia at flow rates of 0.25 and 0.27 gm/s.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Plasmaspheric effects on one way satellite timing signals [PDF]
The effects of the ionospheric retardation of satellite-emitted timing signals was presented. The retardation at the navigation frequencies, which is proportional to the total ionospheric electron content (TEC), was determined by Faraday polarization ...

NR4A1 Exerts Pro‐Tumor Role in Glioblastoma via Inducing xCT/GPX4‐Regulated Ferroptosis
ABSTRACT Purpose This study investigates NR4A1's paradoxical roles in glioblastoma (GBM) progression, focusing on its mechanistic link to ferroptosis regulation. We aimed to resolve conflicting reports of NR4A1 as both an oncogene and a tumor suppressor by defining its transcriptional control over xCT/GPX4‐mediated iron homeostasis and its clinical ...
