Total Factor Productivity Growth in Pakistan’s Agriculture: 1960–1996 [PDF]
Limits to further expansion of cultivated land and slowing returns to further input intensification accord a central role to productivity growth in meeting the challenges of agricultural growth in the future.

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.

Needed: A Theory of Total Factor Productivity
This paper evaluates the argument that differences in physical and intangible capital can account for the large international income differences that characterize the world economy today. The finding is that they cannot. Savings rate differences are of minor importance. What is all-important is total factor productivity. In addition, the paper presents

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Total Factor Productivity of Philippine Manufacturing Industries [PDF]
As suggested by vast literature, the Philippine economy has performed poorly over the last three decades due to deterioration in productivity. This paper provides an updated productivity estimates for the manufacturing industries over the period 1956 ...

Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Dual Economies and International Total Factor Productivity Differences [PDF]
This paper argues that a significant part of measured TFP differences across countries is attributable not to technological factors that affect the entire economy neutrally, but rather, to variations in the structural composition of economies.

A sulfur‐doped Ni–Co heterostructured catalyst is rationally designed to regulate interfacial electronic and adsorption properties for selective glycerol electrooxidation. The synergistic Ni–Co active sites promote hydroxide activation and glycerol adsorption, enabling efficient formic acid production and durable hydrogen generation under continuous ...

THE TOTAL FACTOR PRODUCTIVITY (TFP) OF THE TRADE SECTOR IN IRAN [PDF]
This article explores the important and effective components of the total factor productivity (Tfp) of the trade sector of Iran and estimates their effect in the recognized model by the annual data of the period of 1960-2004. First, we have estimated the
