Low Total Harmonic Distortion Quadruple Gain Boost Inverter

IECON 2019 - 45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2019
This paper proposes a DC-AC converter capable of delivering pure sinusoidal voltage and current to resistive as well as inductive load. The proposed converter provides a quadruple boost while converting low-level DC input to high voltage low total harmonic distortion (THD) AC voltage.

(Invited) Total Harmonic Distortion for PEM Fuel Cell

ECS Transactions, 2017
Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is well developed and widely applied for the study of electrode/electrolyte interfaces, films, coatings, and ion-transport mechanisms, among others. Measurement and analysis of traditional EIS is based on linear response in voltage or current to a sinusoidal perturbation.

Reduction of total harmonic distortion in electronic ballast

2017 International Conference on Innovations in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Media Technology (ICEEIMT), 2017
The main aim of this paper is to reduce the distortion produced in the output side of the AC mains of electronic ballast. The paper implies design of electronic ballast (EB) for compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) by replacing the conventional electronic ballast circuitry with improved SMPS and inverter topologies.

Indirect Measurement of Total Harmonic Distortion

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1990
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Several methods of indirectly measuring total harmonic distortion (THD) in a power amplifier by measuring characteristics of the input and output waveforms are presented. The relative accuracies of each method is discussed. While the emphasis is on practical methods that can be implemented in a automobile car radio,

Approach to ship power network optimization regarding total harmonic distortion

2016 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS), 2016
The paper describes procedures for analyzing and design of the ship electric power network regarding total harmonic distortion. It addresses and provides an overview of the sources of higher harmonic components in the ship power network. The paper also analyses the impact of the certain parameters of the ship power network components to total harmonic ...

Application of Harmonic and Total Harmonic Distortion Instrumentation in Corrosion

2019
Linear polarization resistance and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) are widely applied in corrosion for studying the electrode/solution interface, films, coatings, and corrosion rates. Most potentiostatic and galvanostatic EIS measurements are based on the use of a perturbation signal (i.e., frequency or amplitude modulation of a sine wave)

Enhanced Krill Herd Optimization Algorithm: Total Harmonic Distortion Minimization

2021
This paper presents a new meta-heuristic optimization based switching technique for a single phase nine level multilevel inverter (MLI) using a novel enhanced krill herd (EKH) algorithm to optimize the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). EKH is a swarm population based optimization algorithm with an additional randomization technique, ranking and a new ...

THE IMPACT OF SHUNT COMPENSATION ON TOTAL HARMONIC DISTORTION

International Journal of Power and Energy Systems, 2006
The objective of connecting shunt compensation at nonlinear load terminals is to reduce the displacement angle between the supply voltage vector and the fundamental supply current vector, thereby increasing the power factor. The important feature, however, is the effect on the total harmonic distortion of either voltage or current.

Comparison of Total Harmonic Distortion Measures among Hearing Aid Test Systems

Ear and Hearing, 1982
Different types of hearing aid test equipment use different methods to calculate total harmonic distortion (THD). Comparisons of the THD measured by four commercially available systems were made by evaluating eight hearing aids, three times each. The results obtained were significantly different (p less than 0.001) among three of the test instruments ...

Estimating Total-Harmonic-Distortion of Analog Signal in Time-Domain

2012 IEEE 18th International Mixed-Signal, Sensors, and Systems Test Workshop, 2012
The analog signal communicates the information of electronic system to human in real world, especially for the sense of vision and audition. Among specifications of analog signal, Total-Harmonic-Distortion (THD) is the most significant dynamic parameter for audio and video applications.
