Medullary radius as a major contributor to variance in the proximal femur: Insights from statistical shape modeling

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Workflow from CT to PCA‐based shape modeling of the proximal femoral canal (n = 763). Feature maps (size, roundness, torsion, flare, curvature) reveal sex‐ and age‐dependent patterns; three PCs capture ≈68% of variance and summarize dominant anatomical changes. Insights inform implant sizing and design envelopes in cementless THA.

Scaffolding during surgical procedures: Guidance with baby steps or giant leaps?

open access: yesMedical Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Scaffolding refers to the dynamic support teachers provide to help learners complete tasks they cannot yet do independently. This is often done by breaking tasks into smaller, manageable steps and adjusting the support based on the learner's performance.

The correlation between activity level, serum-ion concentrations and pseudotumours in patients with metal-on-metal hip articulations and metal-on-polyethylene total hip articulations

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Translation, 2019
Purpose: Young and physically active patients have mainly received metal-on-metal (MoM) total hip arthroplasty (THA) and resurfacing hip arthroplasty (RHA). However, the correlation between daily physical activity (PA) levels, serum-ion concentrations of

Association between Hip Center Position and Isokinetic Hip Muscle Performance after Anterolateral Muscle-Sparing Total Hip Arthroplasty

open access: yesMedicina, 2022
Background and objectives: The superior placement of the acetabular cup induced the delayed recovery of abductor muscle moment after total hip arthroplasty (THA) with a conventional posterior approach.

Treatment Trade‐Offs and Choices for Femoral Fractures: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1298-1313, May 2025.
