Parallel wiring of bioelectrochemical devices with conventional generators unexpectedly boosts output. A biophotovoltaic paired with a solar cell delivers up to 50% more power at low loads than their separate contributions; a plant microbial fuel cell shows similar current gains.

The Sun provides nearly all the energy powering the Earth’s climate system, far exceeding all other energy sources combined. The incident radiant energy, the “total solar irradiance,” has been measured by an uninterrupted series of temporally overlapping

One‐dimensional C4N2H14PbBr4 is shown to have a quasi‐direct electronic band structure and strongly anisotropic transport with polarized broadband emission. A GW/Bethe–Salpeter excited‐state force formalism, supported by polarized Raman and temperature‐dependent photoluminescence, identifies low–frequency Pb–Br phonons that drive ultrafast exciton self‐

Rieger-type periodicity in total irradiance of the Sun as a star
Rieger type periodicity is a mid-range periodicity of 150-200 days in solar activity (Rieger et al. 1984). The periodicity can be found in many solar activity indices. Total solar irradiance permits Sun as a star to study stellar light curves from recent

A fully organic UV threshold dosimeter is developed by exploiting the oxygen‐sensitive room‐temperature phosphorescence of a purely organic emitter in a polymer matrix. Upon reaching a specific cumulative UV dose, photochemical oxygen depletion triggers a sharp, high‐contrast emission.

Overview of the NASA Solar Irradiance Science Team (SIST) Program Special Section
Solar irradiance represents the dominant energy source heating the Earth's atmosphere and climate. Both total solar irradiance and spectral solar irradiance vary over the 11‐year solar cycle.

Shaping Carbon Nitrides for Advanced Macrostructures
This review examines how carbon nitride can be shaped through a range of printing and interfacial assembly methods. By bringing together additive manufacturing and liquid–liquid structuring concepts, carbon nitride is moving beyond its traditional powder‐based photocatalyst form toward digitally designed robust macroscale architectures with high design

A theoretical model is developed to visualize three‐dimensional refractive index profiles in transmission holographic gratings. In this work, it is applied to photopolymerizable hydrogels, enabling detailed analysis of the internal structure of recorded holograms and their evolution under different degradation conditions.

The Royal Marsden Hospital (RMH) carried out the first treatments on a small Mobaltron cobalt unit. The field of this unit was so small that the patients had to be confined in a small Perspex container to keep them within the field size. The constraints upon the patients were such that they were extremely uncomfortable for the long treatment times.

"Measurement and uncertainty of the long term total solar irradiance trend"
A possible long-term trend of the total solar irradiance could be a natural cause for climate variations on Earth. Measurement of the total solar irradiance with space radiometers started in 1978.
