Tryptophan metabolite atlas uncovers organ, age, and sex‐specific variations
Tryptophan metabolites were analyzed across twelve organs, the central nervous system, and serum in male and female mice at three life stages. We found tissue‐, sex‐, and age‐specific differences, including increased indole‐3‐pyruvate and kynurenine in aging males.

Production of antibacterial compounds by a Steely hybrid polyketide synthase in Dictyostelium
By selecting appropriate production species under optimised culture conditions, new chlorinated dibenzofuran compounds, which previously could not be analysed in sufficient quantities, were identified from cellular slime mould fruiting bodies. The strong antibacterial activity exhibited by these compounds suggests a link to the ecological function of ...

Lateral Marsh Edge Erosion as a Source of Sediments for Vertical Marsh Accretion [PDF]
With sea level rise accelerating and sediment inputs to the coast declining worldwide, there is concern that tidal wetlands will drown. To better understand this concern, sources of sediment contributing to marsh elevation gain were computed for Plum ...

KHS‐Cnd peptide is able to impair biofilm formation and disaggregate mature biofilms in Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates. Differences in extracellular metabolites reflect changes in biofilm metabolism due to KHS‐Cnd treatment. Among the differentially represented extracellular metabolites upon KHS‐Cnd treatment, the significantly altered ...

Carbon burial characteristics of Hongze Lake in the past 60 years
Lakes are important carbon sinks in terrestrial ecosystems. Currently, most of lake carbon burial research in China only considers organic carbon burial and has neglected inorganic carbon burial, which will lead to an underestimation of the total carbon ...

Exosome Proteomics of SOD1D90A Mutation Suggest Early Disease Mechanisms, and FN1 as a Biomarker
ABSTRACT Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neuromuscular disease. Super oxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) gene mutations cause ALS, and the D90A mutation is associated with primarily upper motor neuron (UMN) loss. Objective Our goal is to reveal the early cellular events in ALS pathology and identify potential pharmacokinetic biomarkers, using well ...
