Development of a distributed hydrological model combined with sediment transport calculations and its application to a medium-scale basin in northeast China

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Communications
An accurate assessment of sediment transport can assist land and resource managers in any region. The primary objective of this study was to develop a distributed hydrological model for calculating rainfall-runoff coupled with sediment transport to ...

Laboratory measurements of physical, chemical, and optical characteristics of Lake Chicot sediment waters [PDF]

open access: yes
Reflectance, chromaticity, diffuse attenuation, beam attenuation, and several other physical and chemical properties were measured for various water mixtures of lake bottom sediment.

Enrichment of organic carbon in sediment transport by interrill and rill erosion processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Erosion and loss of organic carbon (OC) result in degradation of the soil surface. Rill and interrill erosion processes on a silt loam soil were examined in laboratory rainfall and flume experiments.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

Sediment quality of lower reaches of Okpoka Creek, Niger Delta, Nigeria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The sediment is the ultimate sink of contaminants in the aquatic systems. The physico-chemical quality of sediments lower reaches of Okpoka Creek was assessed for two years (wet and dry lsons).Sediment samples were collected at low and high tides from ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Estimating Total Suspended Sediment Yield With Probability Sampling [PDF]

open access: yesWater Resources Research, 1985
The “Selection At List Time” (SALT) scheme controls sampling of concentration for estimating total suspended sediment yield. The probability of taking a sample is proportional to its estimated contribution to total suspended sediment discharge. This procedure gives unbiased estimates of total suspended sediment yield and the variance of the estimate ...
