Totally Geodesic Seifert Surfaces in Hyperbolic Knot and Link Complements I [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
The first examples of totally geodesic Seifert surfaces are constructed for hyperbolic knots and links, including both free and totally knotted surfaces. Then it is proved that two bridge knot complements cannot contain totally geodesic orientable surfaces.

On graphs with equal total domination and Grundy total domination number [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
A sequence $(v_1,\ldots ,v_k)$ of vertices in a graph $G$ without isolated vertices is called a total dominating sequence if every vertex $v_i$ in the sequence totally dominates at least one vertex that was not totally dominated by $\{v_1,\ldots , v_{i-1}\}$ and $\{v_1,\ldots ,v_k\}$ is a total dominating set of $G$.

Total proper connection and graph operations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
A graph is said to be {\it total-colored} if all the edges and vertices of the graph are colored. A path in a total-colored graph is a {\it total proper path} if $(i)$ any two adjacent edges on the path differ in color, $(ii)$ any two internal adjacent vertices on the path differ in color, and $(iii)$ any internal vertex of the path differs in color ...

To identify or not to identify parathyroid glands during total thyroidectomy.

open access: yesGland surgery, 2017
Hypoparathyroidism is one of the most common complications after total thyroidectomy and may impose a significant burden to both the patient and clinician.

Insular Carcinoma of Thyroid Presenting as a Giant Skull Lesion: A Dilemma in Treatment. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Thyroid surgeons are becoming increasingly more aware of a histologically distinct subset of thyroid carcinoma whose classification falls between well-differentiated and anaplastic carcinomas with respect to both cell differentiation and clinical ...

Safety of thyroidectomy at a rural district hospital in Kenya [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The clinical outcome of thyroidectomy may be influenced by among other things, the experience of the surgeon performing the procedure. Furthermore, auditing of any surgical procedure helps in monitoring the safety of the procedure in the hands of the ...

Risk factors for postoperative complications in total thyroidectomy

open access: yesMedicine, 2017
Thyroid cancer incidence is increasing, and with it, an increase in total thyroidectomy. There are limited studies comparing outcomes in total thyroidectomy performed in the inpatient versus outpatient setting.

Totally reflexive extensions and modules [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 379 (2013), 322-332, 2012
We introduce the notion of totally reflexive extension of rings. It unifies Gorenstein orders and Frobenius extensions. We prove that for a totally reflexive extension, a module over the extension ring is totally reflexive if and only if its underlying module over the base ring is totally reflexive.
