Analysis of Eigenvalue Clustering Leads to Optimal Scaling in Numerical Radiative Transfer

open access: yesNumerical Linear Algebra with Applications, Volume 33, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT We consider a multidimensional polychromatic radiative transfer (RT) problem, accounting for scattering processes in a general form, that is, anisotropic (dipole) scattering with partial frequency redistribution. Given a discrete ordinates (SN$$ {S}_N $$) discretization, we report the corresponding matrix structures, depending on the model and

Diagnosing Anaerobic Digesters' Function and Performance: From Meta‐Omics to Integrated Meta‐Omics Analyses

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 5, October 2026.
The integration of multiple meta‐omics can tremendously improve our understanding of the structure, function and dynamics of the complex biological system in anaerobic digesters. Created in BioRender. https://BioRender.com/u9rj8ko. ABSTRACT Anaerobic digestion (AD) of organic wastes by microorganisms into biomethane contributes significantly towards ...

Driver‐Centric Vehicle Routing for Parcel Delivery

open access: yesJournal of Business Logistics, Volume 47, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT One issue parcel delivery drivers are facing in their workplace is the limited access to restrooms. Because drivers are constantly pressured to meet the demanding performance standards called work quotas, they have little time to visit restrooms while working, often forcing them to urinate into bottles in the back of their trucks.

Random Carbon Tax Policy and Investment Into Emission Abatement Technologies

open access: yesMathematical Finance, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 804-825, October 2026.
ABSTRACT We analyze the problem of a profit‐maximizing electricity producer, subject to carbon taxes, who decides on investments into CO2$\rm CO_2$ abatement technologies. We assume that the carbon tax policy is random and that the investment in the abatement technology is divisible, irreversible, and subject to transaction costs.
