Does Managerial Ability Improve Environmental Performance and Overall ESG Ratings? The Impact of the European Sustainability Reporting Mandate

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 6, Page 7983-8016, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examines the role of managerial ability in driving environmental performance and overall environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings in the context of the European Union sustainability reporting regulations. Using a sample of 7242 firm‐year observations over the period 2015–2023, our results indicate a structural change in ...

Single‐Cell Profiling Reveals Distinct Immune Hallmarks in Untreated Primary Colorectal and Liver Metastasis Cancers

open access: yesChronic Diseases and Translational Medicine, Volume 12, Issue 3, Page 197-208, September 2026.
Features the major cell type compositions among colon and liver metastasis. (A) The study design for single‐cell data analysis. (B) The annotated major cell types. Each type was labeled with a special color. (C) Dot plot of canonical marker genes for major cell types. (D) Bar plot of the percentage for each cell type in individuals. (E) Bar plot of the

Decoding Transdiagnostic Subtypes in Emotional Disorders

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Using nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) clustering, our transdiagnostic study identified five representative functional networks (RFNs) that capture the heterogeneity of emotional disorders. These RFNs delineated five clinically distinct subtypes, each with unique diagnostic proportions, clinical symptomatology, and brain functional and structural

FedGATE: Topology‐Aware Personalized Federated Learning With Utility and Carbon‐Aware Scheduling for Mobile Traffic Prediction

open access: yesConcurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, Volume 38, Issue 18, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Accurate mobile traffic prediction is important for proactive resource allocation, congestion management, and service assurance in fifth‐generation and emerging sixth‐generation networks. Centralized deep‐learning approaches can provide strong forecasting performance but require raw traffic data to be transferred to a common server, creating ...

Similar Habitat Gradients Across Native and Invasive Ranges Elicit Divergent Evolutionary Responses

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
We used morphological and genetic data of native and invasive cane toads to demonstrate 1) body‐size differences between ecotypes, 2) whether native‐range ecotypes are genetically distinct and 3) whether patterns of selection for wetter versus drier environments in native and invasive populations were similar.

Mathematical Modeling of Pulse‐Seeded Metapopulation Dynamics for Andes Hantavirus Border Dispersal

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
A pulse‐seeded metapopulation SEIR model for Andes hantavirus maritime dispersal shows that heterogeneous quarantine compliance determines secondary outbreak risk. The weakest‐compliance country governs global containment, while uniform compliance above ∼65%$$ \sim 65\% $$ reduces the global reproduction number below unity.

Deep Spatially Varying Coefficient Model for Interpolation of Non‐Stationary Meteorological Data

open access: yesEnvironmetrics, Volume 37, Issue 6, September 2026.
ABSTRACT In spatial statistics, the spatially varying coefficient model (SVCM) is widely applied in the analysis and interpolation of non‐stationary spatial data. By incorporating spatially varying coefficients, the model can capture spatial heterogeneity and provide an attractive interpretation of response‐covariate associations.
