What is Touch? [PDF]

This paper addresses the nature of touch or tactual perception. I argue that touch encompasses a wide range of perceptual achievements, that treating it as a number of separate senses will not work, and that the permissive conception we are left with is so permissive that it is unclear how touch might be distinguished from the other senses.

Double Helical Plasmonic Antennas

Plasmonic double helical antennas funnel circularly polarized light to the nanoscale, offering strong chiroptical interaction and directional light emission. Stretching‐Orientation Reinforced Double Network Solvent‐Free Eutectic Gels for Ultrarobust, Flexible Human‐Machine Interaction Devices

This work develops an ultrarobust, flexible, and solvent‐free eutectic gel featuring stretch‐induced orientation. Overcoming hydrogel limitations, the gel achieves record toughness (133.86 MJ m−3) while integrating strain/temperature/capacitive sensing.
