Haptic perception of curvature through active touch
2011 IEEE World Haptics Conference, 2011Haptic perception of curvature can be achieved by passive or active finger touch. In this study we proposed a new curvature perception haptic device that can independently orient, elevate and translate a flat plate. By exploring it with a finger through active touch, we can render a curved shape.

The Effect of Touch on Perception of Counselors
Counselor Education and Supervision, 1988The authors examine observers' perceptions of counselors using touch as part of the client‐counselor interaction. Results indicate that touch conveys a sense of caring but does not encourage understanding or client self‐disclosure.
