Physical accessibility of touchscreen smartphones
Proceedings of the 15th International ACM SIGACCESS Conference on Computers and Accessibility, 2013This paper examines the use of touchscreen smartphones, focusing on physical access. Using interviews and observations, we found that participants with dexterity impairment considered a smartphone both useful and usable, but tablet devices offer several important advantages. Cost is a major barrier to adoption.

Software-reduced touchscreen latency
Proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices and Services, 2016Devices with touchscreens have an inherent latency. When a user's finger drags an object across the screen the object follows with a latency of around 100ms for current devices. Previous work showed that latencies down to 25ms reduce users' performance and that even 10ms latency is noticeable.
