Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

Melt Grafting of Geometry‐Tailored Voltage Stabilizers for High‐Performance Polypropylene Insulation
A scalable one‐step melt grafting strategy is developed to enhance the dielectric properties of isotactic polypropylene by covalently incorporating thermally stable aromatic voltage stabilizers. This solvent‐free approach improves volume resistivity and DC breakdown strength through deep trap formation and charge localization, offering a sustainable ...

This paper examines the cultural politics of 'thrift' and 'tough love'. It reflects upon the significance of notions of 'good parenting' in policy and popular debates around social mobility and aspiration. In particular, it reviews the profound importance of notions of 'poor parenting' in the culturalisation of poverty, whereby poverty is seen to be a ...

Robust and Reversible Thermofluorescence in Solvent‐Free Thermoplastic Polyurethane Composites
Thermofluorescent polymer composites with high‐contrast optical outputs are prepared by solvent‐free blending of indenoquinacridone dye into a thermoplastic polyurethane matrix. The temperature‐dependent fluorescence originates from aggregation–dissociation of the dye molecules, regulated by competing hydrogen bonds from the polymer matrix.

On the Race for More Stretchable and Tough Hydrogels
Hydrogels are tridimensional networks that are able to retain important amounts of water. These soft materials can be obtained through self-assembling processes involving either hydrophilic molecules or polymers, allowing the formation of the ...

Influence of matrix toughness and interfacial strength on the toughness of epoxy composites with ductile steel fabric reinforcement [PDF]
In the last decades, several studies have been performed on polymers reinforced with steel cords or wires. However, the diameter of these steel reinforcements was still quite large (200 micron and more).
