Genetic variability and discrimination of low doses of Toxocara spp. from public areas soil inferred by loop-mediated isothermal amplification assay as a field-friendly molecular tool [PDF]
Aim: One of the main diagnostic problems of conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is indiscrimination of low parasitic loads in soil samples. The aim of this study is to determine the genetic diversity and identification of Toxocara spp.

Immunochemical studies of Toxocara canis proteases
Proteases of nematodes play a crucial role in larval molting and, in addition to their active role in egg hatching, proteases are also considered a crucial factor in tissue invasion and connective tissue remodeling. In Toxocara canis, proteases play important roles throughout the complex life cycle.

Sequence variation in mitochondrial cox1 and nad1 genes of ascaridoid nematodes in cats and dogs from Iran [PDF]
The study was conducted to determine the sequence variation in two mitochondrial genes, namely cytochrome c oxidase 1 (pcox1) and NADH dehydrogenase 1 (pnad1) within and among isolates of Toxocara cati, Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina.

Ischemic Stroke in Hypereosinophilic Syndrome: A Clinicopathologic Study of Two Cases
ABSTRACT Ischemic stroke is a rare complication of hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES). Manifestations of stroke in HES have been described in the radiologic literature; however the pathologic characterization of central nervous system (CNS) involvement in HES is limited.

Intestinal parasites are shared among humans and domestic animals. Rural setting is critical to enhance parasite zoonosis in Nepal. ABSTRACT Intestinal parasitic (IP) species with zoonotic significance are major public health issues, mostly prevalent in developing countries, leading to high morbidity and mortality. The present study aimed to assess the

Adult Toxocara canis encephalitis. [PDF]
A 48-year-old patient with Toxocara canis infection developed severe ataxia, rigor and neuropsychological disturbances. An aetiology was proven by an indirect immunofluorescence test. CT and MRI revealed both diffuse and circumscribed white matter lesions. Angiography showed multiple occlusion of branches of the middle cerebral artery.
