Research priorities for advanced HIV disease in Latin America and the Caribbean region: a modified Delphi study

open access: yesJournal of the International AIDS Society, Volume 29, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Introduction Advanced HIV disease (AHD) remains a leading cause of mortality in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), driven by late diagnosis, treatment gaps and structural barriers, particularly among key populations and children. Intestinal Parasites of Zoonotic Significance in Human and Domestic Animals in a Rural Setting in Nepal

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2026.
Intestinal parasites are shared among humans and domestic animals. Rural setting is critical to enhance parasite zoonosis in Nepal. ABSTRACT Intestinal parasitic (IP) species with zoonotic significance are major public health issues, mostly prevalent in developing countries, leading to high morbidity and mortality. The present study aimed to assess the

Is Toxoplasma gondii‐secreted Protein With an Altered Thrombospondin Repeat (TgSPATR) a Potential Candidate for Immunisation? An Immunoinformatics‐Based Analysis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2026.
Toxoplasma gondii‐secreted protein with an altered thrombospondin repeat was computationally characterised as an immunogenic, non‐allergenic protein carrying multiple B‐ and T‐cell epitopes. Structural validation and immune simulation suggest its strong potential as a vaccine candidate against toxoplasmosis.

Genetic Diversity of Neospora Caninum in Palestinian Cattle and Sheep: Insights From Nc‐5 Gene Detection and MS10 Microsatellite Analysis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2026.
N. caninum DNA was detected in 24.2% of sampled cattle and sheep brains, with a higher prevalence in cattle (25.5%) than sheep (16.7%). Palestinian isolates formed one cluster, with the ACT allele predominating (76%). Phylogenetic analysis revealed low genetic diversity in N. caninum globally.
