Toxoplasma gondii has been well‐documented to cause central nervous system infections in immunodeficient patients. The present study describes a case of central nervous system toxoplasmosis in a patient with common variable immunodeficiency and newly diagnosed large granular lymphocytic leukemia, with a review of the literature for this association.

Everyday and Exotic Foodborne Parasites
Everyday foodborne parasites, which are endemic in Canada, include the protozoans Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium parvum. However, these parasites are most frequently acquired through unfiltered drinking water, homosexual activity or close personal contact such as in daycare centres and occasionally via a food vehicle.

DESIGN: Banked sera and the computerized data base of demographic and other factors from an earlier epidemiological study were retrieved.
