Congenital ocular toxoplasmosis is a significant cause of blindness. Retinochoroiditis is the most common finding, but other ocular manifestations include microphthalmus, nystagmus, strabismus, and ptosis. Seven patients had a destructive and disseminated form of toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis that resulted in loss of useful vision. All had been treated initially with corticosteroids alone.
