The 3BF theory as a TQFT

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical
Abstract We study the path integral quantization of the topological 3BF theory, whose gauge symmetry is described by a 3-group. This theory is relevant for the quantization of general relativity coupled to Standard Model of elementary particles.

Log-TQFT and torsion

open access: yes, 2013
Logarithmic representations of the bordism category are considered as a framework for capturing a class of additive invariants characterising Reidemeister torsions.

On the Rozansky-Witten TQFT

open access: yes, 2020
This thesis studies a potential method for constructing the Rozansky--Witten TQFT as an extended $(1+1+1)$-TQFT. A monoidal $2$-category consisting of schemes, complexes of sheaves and sheaf morphisms is constructed, and it is shown that there are $(1+1)$-TQFTs valued in the truncation of this category, whose state spaces agree with the Rozansky ...

Finite 2-group gauge theory and its 3+1D lattice realization

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this work, we employ the Tannaka-Krein reconstruction to compute the quantum double 𝒟(𝒢) of a finite 2-group 𝒢 as a Hopf monoidal category. We also construct a 3+1D lattice model from the Dijkgraaf-Witten TQFT functor for the 2-group 𝒢, generalizing ...

Edge modes, extended TQFT, and measurement based quantum computation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Quantum teleportation can be used to define a notion of parallel transport which characterizes the entanglement structure of a quantum state [1]. This suggests one can formulate a gauge theory of entanglement.
